Identity & right to work
Photo ID and proof of address seen in original on a video call, plus a Home Office right-to-work check.
Enhanced DBS
Enhanced DBS including the children’s barred list, verified and recorded, with renewal tracked every year or via the Update Service.
References & interview
Two non-family references who’ve seen the caregiver with children, and an interview with our team.
Safeguarding training
Mandatory for every caregiver, plus childcare knowledge. First aid is required for childminders and strongly encouraged for everyone.
Ofsted for childminders
We verify Ofsted registration against the public register and check the home setting’s risk assessment.
Ongoing monitoring
Expiring certificates are flagged 30 days ahead. If a check lapses, the caregiver is hidden from families automatically.
No manual overrides on safety checks.
Our system won’t let anyone — including our own team — approve a caregiver or show them to families until every mandatory check for their services is approved. Missing or expired DBS, safeguarding or ID blocks bookings outright.
Families see which checks each caregiver has passed, right on their profile.

If something doesn’t feel right, tell us.
Signed-in families and caregivers can report directly from any booking in the app — it reaches our safeguarding lead immediately. Reports of immediate risk remove the caregiver from search straight away while we investigate.
